POSTING PERIOD:

SUMMARY:
The primary Job Duties for this position will be Sheriff’s Office Payroll. Civil Deputy Clerks perform a variety of clerical tasks supporting multiple departments within the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO). Rather than performing a single specialized task, Civil Deputy Clerks have responsibilities that can change with the current needs of the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office. Financial or accounting experience is preferred.

Chief Deputy
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. May include prolonged sitting.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The primary working location for this position is the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office. Depending upon future work assignments, this Civil Deputy Clerk may also work at other venues as needed or assigned. Work environment will include interaction with the public with a moderate noise level.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Education or experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred. Two years of Business or Government payroll experience required.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and/or ABILITIES:
Accurate preparation and processing of payroll using financial software. Accounts payable and receivable, and daily financial transactions while maintaining budgets. Strong computer skills and proficient working in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
This position offers excellent benefits and hours, including state pension with a starting salary of $26.62 per hour. Work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3 pm. Health care benefits after 60 days and full contractual benefits after completing a one-year probationary period.
