What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Truity Partners?
Our client in downtown Milwaukee has an immediate need for an interim Senior Accountant for the next 3-6 months. There is also temp to hire potential if desired. We’re looking for someone with at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience and prior nonprofit exposure a plus! This role is fully in the office with parking included. Responsibilities
- Own core month-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet and bank reconciliations, and general ledger analysis to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, partnering with leadership to explain results and identify trends or risks
- Maintain and review capital project and fixed asset activity within Acumatica, ensuring proper coding, tracking, and depreciation in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with year-end close and audit preparation, including schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries
- Prepare and file sales tax and informational returns, and provide support for 1099 reporting as needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally and provide backup support across accounting operations (AP, AR, payroll) to keep workflows moving smoothly
Requirements:
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior Acumatica experience strongly preferred
- Public accounting and/or nonprofit accounting background is a plus
- Solid Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, working with existing templates)
Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
