Human Resources Manager
Location: New Jersey (Hybrid)
Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 Base Salary
A well-established, multi-office professional services firm is seeking a Human Resources Manager to oversee firmwide HR operations. This is a key role responsible for managing the end-to-end HR function, partnering with leadership, and driving a consistent and compliant HR framework across the organization.
Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager will play a key role in administering and enhancing all HR functions across the firm, including employee relations, compliance, recruiting, and workforce planning. This position requires a hands-on professional with strong experience in law firm or professional services environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide managerial and administrative support the leadership.
- Oversee all human resource functions across the firm, including continuous evaluation and improvement of HR policies and procedures
- Manage recruiting, hiring, development, and retention programs in compliance with federal and state employment laws
- Assess staffing needs and maintain appropriate staffing ratios across departments
- Supervise non-exempt personnel, including administrative and clerical staff
- Oversee employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and issue management
- Ensure compliance with leave of absence policies and related regulations
- Coordinate with HR leadership and benefits teams on firmwide benefit programs, including 401(k) and profit-sharing plans
- Maintain and update job descriptions and ensure timely review of position specifications
- Provide regular updates and reporting to Managing Partners and HR leadership
- Support onboarding and integration of new attorneys and staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Approximately 5 years of progressive HR experience within a law firm or professional services environment
- Prior law firm experience strongly preferred
- HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or PHR are a plus
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with partners, attorneys, and staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems
