Compensation $75,000–$100,000

The position is fully in-office for the first 90 days

5 years of New York defense paralegal experience required

Based in Woodbridge Township, NJ, we are a multidisciplinary law firm known for its client-focused approach collaborative culture and commitment to delivering practical results. The General Liability defense team is expanding and seeking an experienced Paralegal to join a growing team handling sophisticated general liability defense matters across New Jersey and New York. This role is ideal for a seasoned New York defense paralegal who values substantive litigation support collaborative teamwork and long-term professional stability within a supportive firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare subpoenas review and summarize discovery responses and medical records while scheduling noticing confirming gathering and producing all records related to Independent Medical Examinations and calendaring relevant deadlines with accuracy and efficiency
• Draft motions to compel motions for sanctions motions for extraordinary relief and motions to enforce subpoenas in support of active general liability defense matters across New Jersey and New York
• Perform verdict searches docket searches social media searches and background searches in support of litigation strategy and case evaluation
• Manage a high-volume caseload with strong follow-up skills and independent workflow management while collaborating with attorneys and support staff across active defense matters in both jurisdictions

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or bachelor's degree required
• 5 years of New York defense paralegal experience required with demonstrated experience handling both NJ and NY cases; experience with NY NYCHA/E-track filing system NJ eCourts and PACER preferred; experience in commercial motor vehicle defense UM/UIM premises liability construction accident and product liability preferred
• Strong organizational communication and time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-volume environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 ProLaw Excel and e-document management software preferred with strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently and collaboratively; this is a fully on-site position
