Trueline’s client, a rapidly growing commercial construction firm in New Orleans, is seeking a Senior Superintendent to oversee and deliver high-quality projects across the region. This is a hands-on leadership role managing a flagship job while coaching and supporting a talented field team, offering the opportunity to join a stable, close-knit company on an upward trajectory.
What You’ll Do as the Senior Superintendent:
Lead all on-site construction activities for projects ranging from $3M to $10M, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence
Act as the field leader and right hand to ownership, helping shape project strategies and mentoring junior superintendents
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and site logistics for smooth project execution
Manage daily logs, punch lists, closeout processes, and weekly subcontractor meetings
Interpret drawings, layout dimensions, and elevations, and oversee all building processes from ground-up to historical renovations
Create and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules, collaborating with the project manager to ensure proper sequencing
Promote a strong safety culture on site and maintain compliance with all safety protocols
Must-Haves as the Senior Superintendent:
Minimum 7 years’ experience in commercial construction supervision, ideally in projects $3M–$15M
Strong background in renovations, some ground -up builds and structural work (concrete and steel)
Ability to interpret contracts, drawings, and scopes of work with precision
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and scheduling tools
Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop field teams
High emotional intelligence and excellent relationship-building skills with owners, architects, and stakeholders
Nice-to-Haves as the Senior Superintendent:
Experience with Procore construction management software
Historical renovation project experience
Background with larger general contractors seeking a transition to a more nimble, team-focused environment
Survey layout skills and long-lead item coordination experience
