Trueline's client, a highly regarded federal construction contractor with a strong pipeline of healthcare and government projects, is seeking a Quality Control Manager / Site Safety and Health Officer (QCM/SSHO) to join their team on Oahu in Hawaii. This role is critical to ensuring project quality and safety compliance across active military and healthcare construction projects, offering long-term stability and strong career growth.
What You'll Do as the QCM/SSHO:
- Lead and manage the project Quality Management System (QMS)
- Serve as the authority on-site for quality and safety compliance
- Conduct inspections, identify deficiencies, and drive corrective actions
- Develop and maintain quality plans, procedures, and documentation
- Coordinate with project teams and clients to ensure contract compliance
- Perform internal audits and track subcontractor performance
- Develop and enforce site-specific safety plans and protocols
- Lead safety orientations, weekly meetings, and toolbox talks
- Conduct hazard analyses, safety inspections, and incident investigations
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, USACE, and EM385-1-1 standards
- Maintain accurate records related to inspections, safety, and compliance
Must-Haves as the QCM/SSHO:
- 5 years of recent safety management experience in construction
- Experience in healthcare, federal, or military construction projects
- Current OSHA 30 certification (Construction or General Industry)
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (in-person, not online only)
- USACE Construction Quality Management certification
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations including EM385-1-1
- Proven experience developing and managing quality control programs
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to lead independently on active job sites
Nice-to-Haves as the QCM/SSHO:
- Experience working on military bases or USACE projects
- Additional safety certifications or formal safety training programs
- Familiarity with healthcare construction standards and requirements
- Experience managing subcontractor quality programs
