Trueline's client, a specialized law firm focused on insurance industry transactions, regulatory matters, and corporate advisory services, is seeking a Corporate Attorney - Transactions & Regulatory (Associate to Counsel) to join their team in West Hartford, CT, with flexibility for hybrid or remote work based on experience level. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact M&A and regulatory matters within a niche, high-demand sector, alongside a team of deeply experienced industry experts.
What You'll Do as the Attorney:
- Advise clients on mergers and acquisitions involving insurance agencies, brokerages, and related entities
- Support and lead transactional workstreams, including drafting, negotiation, and deal execution
- Provide counsel on insurance regulatory and compliance matters, including licensing and state-level requirements
- Assist clients with corporate governance, contracts, and operational legal needs
- Partner closely with clients ranging from independent agencies to private equity-backed firms
- Collaborate with internal team members to deliver efficient, business-focused legal solutions
- Build trusted client relationships and contribute to long-term client success
Must-Haves as the Attorney:
- JD and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Strong corporate transactional experience, including M&A work
- Experience working in a law firm environment
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and work in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and a practical, business-oriented mindset
Nice-to-Haves as the Attorney:
- Experience with insurance regulatory or compliance matters
- Familiarity with the insurance industry, including agencies, brokerages, or insurtech
- Portable book of business (not required)
