Trueline's client, a global provider of advanced automated equipment used across a wide range of industries, is seeking an Automation Mechanical Technician III to join their team. This role is ideal for a hands-on builder who enjoys assembling and troubleshooting complex systems while stepping into leadership responsibilities on smaller projects.
What You'll Do as the Automation Mechanical Technician III:
- Assemble and integrate standard and custom mechanical components for automated systems
- Align, fit, and verify tooling to ensure proper performance and precision
- Troubleshoot and debug stations, modules, and full systems in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Support electrical routing and assist with control panel assembly when needed
- Execute builds with a focus on quality, efficiency, and accuracy
- Contribute to design updates, redlines, and mechanical modifications
- Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and field service work
- Support testing processes including measurement studies such as Gage R&R and CpK
- Lead smaller builds as a Module Project Leader
- Maintain organized and safe workspaces aligned with 5S practices
- Mentor and support junior technicians on best practices and technical development
Must-Haves as the Automation Mechanical Technician III:
- Associate's degree in a mechanical or electrical field or equivalent hands-on experience
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical assembly and system troubleshooting
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Experience working with machining tools such as mills, lathes, and grinders
- Familiarity with materials, BOM updates, and production workflows
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically active environments
- Willingness to travel for installations and service work
Nice-to-Haves as the Automation Mechanical Technician III:
- Cross-training or experience in electrical assembly
- Background working with automated systems or custom machinery
- Experience supporting customer-facing installations or commissioning
- Previous experience mentoring or leading junior team members
