Trueline's client, a growing general contractor specializing in multifamily housing, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join their team onsite in Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA. This role supports the successful execution of a 100-unit mid-rise project, offering hands-on field experience and a clear path toward Superintendent-level growth.
What You'll Do as the Assistant Superintendent:
- Support daily onsite construction activities alongside the Lead Superintendent
- Coordinate subcontractors to ensure work aligns with project schedule and milestones
- Track jobsite productivity and help maintain efficient workflows
- Assist in managing project schedule, including deliveries, inspections, and trade sequencing
- Identify potential delays and communicate issues early to the project team
- Conduct site walks to verify work meets plans, specifications, and code requirements
- Assist with punch list tracking and closeout activities
- Promote and enforce jobsite safety standards and compliance
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and well-run jobsite
- Track subcontractor manpower and provide daily field updates
Must-Haves as the Assistant Superintendent:
- 5 years of construction experience, preferably in multifamily projects
- Experience supporting mid-rise, podium, or 5-over-1 construction
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and field coordination
- Ability to identify issues and escalate appropriately
- Experience with construction management software (Procore preferred)
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work full-time onsite in Los Angeles
Nice-to-Haves as the Assistant Superintendent:
- Experience working on projects of similar size and scale (100 units)
- Familiarity with Los Angeles building codes and inspection processes
- OSHA certification or formal safety training
- Ambition to grow into a Superintendent role
