Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, to move, load, unload, and organize inventory. Duties
- Safely operate forklift trucks, reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, and other material handling equipment to load and unload shipments.
- Pick orders accurately using barcode scanning systems and manual methods to fulfill customer requests efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas while adhering to OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Manage inventory levels by organizing stock in designated warehouse areas, utilizing warehouse management systems for tracking.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying shipment contents against documentation and maintaining accurate records.
- Follow manual handling procedures for heavy lifting tasks to prevent injuries and ensure safe materials handling practices.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment within a warehouse setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order picking.
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution processes including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with barcode scanning technology used in logistics operations.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to weights, measurements, and inventory counts accurately.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols to promote a safe working environment.
- Experience with equipment repair or troubleshooting minor issues on material handling machinery is a plus.
- Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy loads safely and efficiently.
- Prior warehouse supervisor or team lead experience is advantageous for leadership responsibilities within the role.
