Position Summary
This role is responsible for the design and development of RF and microwave passive components, with a primary focus on filter products. The engineer leads project teams in a fast‑paced environment to deliver new designs to customers on schedule, meeting or exceeding all technical and commercial requirements, and ensuring profitable transition into production.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply engineering and electronics principles using RF synthesis and simulation software to design, simulate, and prototype new products, emphasizing RF filters
- Perform detailed compliance analysis for electrical, mechanical, environmental, and regulatory requirements (compliance matrix) for all new products being quoted
- Estimate total costs, including material, labor, test, and development expenses, as well as lead times for new product quotations
- Lead design and development projects to completion following the company’s established product development process
- Optimize new products for performance, manufacturing lead time, and cost
- Provide hands‑on guidance to assemblers and engineering technicians during prototype build and optimization phases
- Interface with manufacturing engineering to develop any new processes required to support new products
- Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure timely procurement of prototype materials
- Provide regular project status updates
- Lead or participate in required project meetings: kick‑offs, peer design reviews, pre‑shipment reviews, etc.
- Provide design engineering support during the transition of new products to production
- Support existing production products that require engineering assistance for obsolete components, quality or reliability issues, or further optimization
- Educate, train, mentor, and coach less experienced design engineers and technicians
- Stay current with technology and industry trends; propose new product concepts that could provide a competitive advantage

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of RF/microwave filter synthesis and simulation software; experience with lumped‑element and/or distributed‑element designs
- Understanding of technologies and processes used in the design and fabrication of filters and related RF products
- Strong project management capabilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a fast‑paced engineering and production environment
- Hands‑on bench testing and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of various lumped‑element filter topologies and design methodologies
- Experience with cavity and dielectric resonator filters for telecommunications, military, or avionics applications
- Experience designing high‑power filters (300 watts or higher) and/or filter miniaturization
- Strong CAD skills using electromagnetic analysis tools
- Understanding of radio architecture, avionics, military communication systems, and radar systems
- Must be eligible to work with export‑controlled technical data (ITAR)
Education, Experience, and Training
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE or MSEE preferred)
- 10 years of experience in the RF/microwave industry, including at least 5 years specifically in filter design
- Experience with integrated microwave filter assemblies is preferred
Physical Requirements & Working Environment
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as required
- Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, machine controls, and measuring instruments
- Work is performed in a combination of office and manufacturing environments
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, fumes, and related by‑products

Salary : $90,000 - $140,000
