At Myles Wrecker Service, with our trusted partner True North Fleet Services, we are looking for an experienced General Manager – Towing & Recovery to lead our towing, recovery, roadside, and transportation operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for operational performance, P&L results, team development, customer relationships, safety, and growth. The General Manager will lead drivers, dispatchers, supervisors, and support teams while building the accountability and operating discipline needed to scale the business.
We’re looking for a leader who operates with an owner’s mindset—someone equally comfortable reviewing financial performance, developing leaders, being visible in field operations, strengthening customer relationships, and stepping in when the operation needs leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Own overall operational and financial performance, including revenue, profitability, budgets, labor, and key performance metrics.
- Lead safe, efficient, and professional 24/7 towing, recovery, roadside, and transportation operations.
- Drive revenue growth through existing customers, new accounts, towing rotations, commercial fleets, municipalities, and strategic partnerships.
- Improve response times, truck utilization, driver productivity, fleet uptime, service quality, and overall operating efficiency.
- Recruit, develop, and retain drivers, dispatchers, supervisors, and future operational leaders.
- Establish clear expectations and create accountability for performance, safety, customer service, and followthrough.
- Maintain strong visibility within field operations and provide leadership during major recoveries, customer escalations, and highdemand events.
- Oversee fleet and equipment readiness, preventative maintenance, utilization, downtime, and capital needs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable DOT, towing, safety, motorcarrier, licensing, and operational requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial customers, fleets, law enforcement, municipalities, insurance partners, and referral sources.
- Partner with accounting and operational teams to ensure accurate billing, documentation, job costing, and capture of billable services.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, expand services, strengthen margins, and support continued geographic growth.
- Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive leadership experience in towing, recovery, transportation, fleet operations, heavy trucking, roadside service, or a related field.
- Experience leading a business unit, branch, region, or operating P&L.
- Strong understanding of field operations, dispatch, driver management, fleet utilization, and 24/7 service environments.
- Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance while growing revenue and profitability.
- Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining frontline employees and operational leaders.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand budgets, forecasts, P&Ls, job costing, and operating KPIs.
- Working knowledge of DOT, safety, fleet, and operational compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, decisionmaking, and problemsolving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- CDL and towing/recovery certifications are preferred.
