A Water Jet Saw Operator in a countertop fabrication business is responsible for operating and maintaining water jet cutting equipment to accurately cut various materials, primarily stone and solid surface, for countertop production. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the precision and quality of finished countertops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation:
- Set up and operate water jet cutting machines to cut countertop materials according to specific design and dimensional requirements.
- Load and secure materials onto the machine bed, ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
- Monitor the machine's operation, making real-time adjustments to maintain cutting accuracy and efficiency.
Material Handling:
- Handle raw materials, such as granite, marble, or quartz, safely and efficiently.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area to prevent material contamination or damage.
Quality Control:
- Inspect finished pieces for quality, ensuring they meet the specified dimensions and quality standards.
- Make necessary adjustments and corrections to avoid waste and defects,
Equipment Maintenance:
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or issues for prompt repair.
Safety:
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper handling and disposal procedures for stone scraps and abrasive materials.
- Maintain accurate records of material usage and completed jobs.
Communication:
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the seamless flow of production.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating water jet cutting machines in a countertop fabrication or similar environment is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of different countertop materials and their properties is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Physical Requirements:
- This role involves lifting and handling small pieces of heavy materials, as well as use of vacuum lifter.
- Standing for extended periods and the ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
