A Water Jet Saw Operator in a countertop fabrication business is responsible for operating and maintaining water jet cutting equipment to accurately cut various materials, primarily stone and solid surface, for countertop production. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the precision and quality of finished countertops.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation:
• Set up and operate water jet cutting machines to cut countertop materials according to specific design and dimensional requirements.
• Load and secure materials onto the machine bed, ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
• Monitor the machine’s operation, making real-time adjustments to maintain cutting accuracy and efficiency.

Material Handling:

• Handle raw materials, such as granite, marble, or quartz, safely and efficiently.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area to prevent material contamination or damage.

Quality Control:

• Inspect finished pieces for quality, ensuring they meet the specified dimensions and quality standards.
• Make necessary adjustments and corrections to avoid waste and defects,

Equipment Maintenance:

• Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or issues for prompt repair.

Safety:

• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper handling and disposal procedures for stone scraps and abrasive materials.
• Maintain accurate records of material usage and completed jobs.

Communication:

• Collaborate with team members to ensure the seamless flow of production.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating water jet cutting machines in a countertop fabrication or similar environment is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of different countertop materials and their properties is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Physical Requirements:

• This role involves lifting and handling small pieces of heavy materials, as well as use of vacuum lifter.
• Standing for extended periods and the ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
