Job Description

The Staff Accountant position offers a comprehensive experience in all aspects of accounting. As part of a collaborative team, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the accounting records of offices, ensuring reconciliation with 1 Source Business Solutions standards.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Daily processing of payroll taxes and tax deposits, including importing tax liabilities and reconciling tax payments due. Performance of daily payroll tax audits.
• Responsible for MasterTax (tax software) maintenance, including daily and quarterly processes.
• Responsible for monthly and quarterly tax processing and reconciliation.
• Ensure timely completion of payroll tax filings, including withholding, unemployment, and others, on monthly and quarterly bases, across multiple states.
• Ensuring tax compliance by maintaining tax registrations and applications across local, regional, and state tax reporting entities.
• Addressing questions and issues regarding payroll taxes.
• Work closely with payroll department to manage A/R, Wires, and Reversals
• Month End process
  
  

Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or relevant experience in multi-state tax fillings. Prior work experience as a tax accountant, tax analyst, or tax preparer is preferred.
• Good working knowledge of accounting practices and tax laws.
• Accurate math and accounting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, tax systems and database software.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Ability to work well with team members and lead several processes.
• Strong attention to detail.
