Job Description:

TruBlu HR Solutions is seeking an experienced Director of LSS Design & Operations for a direct-hire opportunity in the Houston area. This is an exciting leadership role for a professional with a strong background in public aquariums, Life Support Systems (LSS), aquatic infrastructure, or specialized construction projects.

The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, project management, business development, and team leadership to deliver complex aquarium projects from initial concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale aquarium projects from concept and design through construction, installation, and completion.
• Collaborate with international teams to develop and deliver custom Life Support Systems and aquatic environments.
• Consult with public aquariums to assess exhibit and infrastructure needs and develop practical, buildable solutions.
• Manage client relationships and provide post-project support to promote long-term satisfaction and repeat business.
• Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams while supporting the growth of U.S. operations.
• Contribute to business development, proposal creation, sales growth, and strategic partnerships.
• Represent the organization at industry conferences and events.
• Coordinate projects and stakeholders across international teams, time zones, and project locations.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in public aquariums, aquarium special works, aquatic infrastructure, or related construction industries.
• Demonstrated success managing large-scale, high-value Life Support Systems (LSS) or aquatic infrastructure projects.
• Strong project management and team leadership experience.
• Experience in client consulting, business development, and proposal development.
• In-depth understanding of public aquarium operations, LSS design, and technical infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating international projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commercial awareness, including an understanding of project profitability, sales growth, and business development.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, marine sciences, business, or a related field.
• Experience in the public aquarium supply chain, including LSS design and installation or curatorial support services.
