What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graduate Administrative Assistant-Music Education position at Troy University?
This position will work closely with the Coordinator of Music Education and Director of the School of Music. The responsibilities include:
1. Serve as a liaison between the School of Music and the Department of Teacher Education to coordinate clinical field placements for undergraduate Music Education students.

2. Support the maintenance of a database containing clinical field placement information.
3. Organize and update Music Education classroom inventory using a shared Excel spreadsheet.
4. Assist in maintaining a recruitment database for prospective Music Education students (choral graduate assistants will coordinate with choral faculty on a separate choral database, while band graduate assistants will work with band faculty to manage a database for prospective band students).
5. Contribute to the planning and coordination of Music Education Day.
6. Assist with all School of Music recruitment events.
7. Collaborate with music faculty and graduate assistants (Choral, Band, and Music Industry) to maintain a comprehensive School of Music recruitment database, including establishing consistent communication with prospective students and high school music teachers.
8. Support the management of the School of Music’s social media platforms.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music, or music related field.
