Maintenance Technician (Night Shift - 2-2-3 Schedule)

The Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This role supports production operations by minimizing downtime, ensuring equipment reliability, and proactively identifying maintenance needs in a manufacturing environment.

• Perform mechanical, electrical, and facility repairs to reduce equipment downtime and optimize labor and parts usage

• Troubleshoot and repair production machinery, building systems, HVAC, boilers, and supporting utilities

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical charts

• Execute preventive maintenance tasks and accurately document all maintenance work orders

• Conduct routine assessments of equipment and facility conditions, recommending repairs or improvements

• Collaborate with Production, QA, and Supervisory teams to quickly resolve maintenance issues

• Ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are removed from production lines prior to startup or restart following repairs

• Respond to emergency maintenance situations, providing 24/7 coverage and support as required

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical or higher education preferred

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive plant maintenance experience, preferably in food manufacturing

• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting experience

• Ability to work extended hours or overtime to support production demands

• Effective verbal and written communication skills; Spanish proficiency preferred

• Basic mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and problem-solving

• Ability to lift 10–50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift

• Work performed in both production and warehouse environments with varying temperatures, including freezer conditions

• Requires standing and walking for extended periods (up to 100% of the shift)

• Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, lifting, and carrying

• Regular exposure to moving machinery, mechanical parts, and industrial equipment
