We are seeking an experienced Lead Fire Alarm Technician to oversee the onsite installation of fire life safety systems within commercial properties. This role is ideal for a Senior Fire Alarm Technician or Fire Alarm Lead who can manage crews, coordinate installations, and ensure projects are completed on time and in compliance with industry standards. The Fire TI Lead Technician plays a critical leadership role, guiding technicians through demolition, rough-ins, wiring, and device installation while also handling project documentation, troubleshooting, and customer communication. This position requires strong technical knowledge of fire alarm systems, commercial construction practices, and electrical regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead installation of commercial fire alarm and fire life safety systems
  • Supervise and guide technicians on tenant improvement (TI) projects
  • Perform and oversee demolition, construction rough-ins, and device installation
  • Pull, route, and terminate fire alarm wiring
  • Troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate project preparation, material staging, and job site organization
  • Communicate daily with Project Manager and Foreman regarding job status
    Serve as primary onsite contact for customers
  • Interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites
  • Train and mentor junior technicians
  • Manage data files and ensure proper storage procedures
  • Complete daily reports and project documentation in CRM
  • Support project closeout by submitting final documentation
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory
  • Follow fleet policies and inventory management procedures

Leadership & Project Management Duties

  • Lead onsite crew to ensure successful installation of project components
  • Identify best methods for installation based on drawings and site conditions
  • Ensure materials and equipment are staged and ready for use
  • Monitor installation progress and adjust workflow as needed
  • Provide technical guidance and training to technicians
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting to keep project on schedule

Position Requirements: 

  • 3 years in construction and/or low voltage installation
  • 3 years installing low voltage in a commercial environment
  • Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance.
  • Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed).  
  • Punctuality and regular attendance

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Ability to drive for 2 hours in a work shift/day, daily.
  • Ability to drive, walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations.
  • Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, and multi-tenant properties.
  • Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally
  • Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 50 pounds, daily
  • Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily
  • Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all California locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. 

Salary : $26 - $34
