Electrical Engineer II
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer II to join our growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience designing electrical systems for commercial, government, academic, research and development, multifamily, and industrial facilities. This role will be responsible for preparing electrical designs, performing engineering calculations, developing construction documents, coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams, and supporting projects through construction administration.
The Electrical Engineer II will work under the direction of senior engineering staff and project managers while taking increasing responsibility for project execution, client interaction, and technical leadership on assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for a variety of building types, including commercial, government, academic, R&D, multifamily, and industrial projects.
- Prepare construction drawings and specifications for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, telecommunications, and other electrical systems.
- Perform engineering calculations, including load analysis, voltage drop, short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.
- Utilize SKM software tools for electrical system analysis and studies.
- Develop lighting layouts and photometric calculations using lighting design software such as AGi32, Visual, or similar programs.
- Prepare and coordinate electrical models and drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Collaborate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, civil, and architectural disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting efforts.
- Conduct field investigations, site surveys, and assessments of existing facilities.
- Review contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and equipment selections for compliance with design intent.
- Provide construction administration support, including site visits and project documentation.
- Assist in developing technical reports, studies, and engineering recommendations.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, energy codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Three (3 ) or more years of relevant industry experience in the design of commercial, government, academic, R&D, multifamily, industrial, or similar facilities.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience using SKM software tools and/or lighting design software such as AGi32, Visual, or similar applications.
- Strong understanding of electrical power distribution, lighting, and building systems design.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
Preferred
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- LEED Accreditation.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
- Experience performing short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.
- Familiarity with energy-efficient and sustainable building design practices.

Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
