Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of paratransit vans to transport patients and clients to medical appointments, hospitals, and other destinations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring comfort and safety at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles, including routine inspections and reporting any issues promptly.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, healthcare facilities, and passengers to coordinate schedules and address any concerns efficiently.
- Handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility devices ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure a secure transportation environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service by being friendly, professional, and attentive to passenger needs throughout each trip.
Experience
- Previous experience is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers and team members.
- Experience with paratransit services or transporting individuals with mobility challenges is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle maintenance tasks related to vehicle upkeep.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safety standards relevant to passenger transportation.
We are looking for drivers with a clean 3-year driving record, drug-free, and can pass a background check.
Transports times and schedules can change daily so the need for someone who can be flexible is required.
