RSI Logistics, recently acquired by Trinity Industries Inc., is looking for a Rail Site Manager to oversee the Site Coordination team that supports the Canada and US Gulf Coast Site Coordination activities. The Rail Site Manager will lead a team of Rail Coordinators and Supervisors, ensure seamless logistics operations and fostering proactive relationships with key stakeholders.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of rail operations.
- Oversee the planning and execution of inbound and outbound railcar needs across multiple sites.
- Manage coordination activities to meet loading and unloading requirements.
- Ensure alignment of rail operations with the overall supply chain strategy of the organization.
- Proactively focus on Continuous Improvement and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
- Lead and participate in governance meetings to review performance, strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide leadership during critical rail-related unplanned events such as service disruptions, acts of nature, shut down railcars, etc. ensuring timely communication and effective mitigation strategies.
- Participate in Quick Response Teams (QRT) and develop strategic response plans for various scenarios.
- Coordinate with local and regional railroad operations personnel during unplanned events to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of rail operations.
- Ensure adherence to SLA standards and reporting for KPIs, SLAs, and Stewardship initiatives.
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership on the status of rail operations and any critical issues.
- Conduct Root Cause Investigations and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
- Hire, train, and develop a high-performing team of Site Rail Coordinators and Supervisors.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, problem solving and operational excellence within the team.
- Develop and implement annual Ops Hub budget.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in leadership role in rail operations or logistics management (5 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of rail industry regulations and safety standards.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic initiatives.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in the use of logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
