Materials Coordinator – Pipe, Flanges & Fittings – Must-Have Requirements
- Previous experience as a Materials Coordinator, Inventory Coordinator, Shipping & Receiving Clerk, or Warehouse Coordinator
- Experience working with pipe, flanges, fittings, valves, or industrial piping materials
- Ability to read packing slips, purchase orders, and material documentation
- Experience handling Material Test Reports (MTRs) and maintaining material traceability
- Basic computer skills and experience with ERP or inventory management systems
- Strong organizational and inventory control skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work between office and shop environments as needed
Materials Coordinator – Pipe, Flanges & Fittings – Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Materials Coordinator to support inventory control, material tracking, documentation management, and production support operations within an industrial piping environment. This role will focus on coordinating pipe, flanges, fittings, valves, and related materials while maintaining accurate inventory records, MTR documentation, and material traceability.
This position is primarily office and coordination focused, with occasional shop interaction to verify materials, assist production teams, and support shipping and receiving activities.
The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial manufacturing, pipe distribution, oil & gas, or fabrication environments and understand the importance of keeping materials organized, documented, and production-ready.
Materials Coordinator – Pipe, Flanges & Fittings – Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive and verify incoming pipe, flanges, fittings, valves, and industrial materials
- Match materials to packing slips, purchase orders, and MTRs
- Maintain heat number traceability and material certifications
- Coordinate movement and tracking of materials between departments
- Stage and organize documentation to support production schedules
- Perform inventory checks and assist with inventory audits
- Update inventory records and material status in ERP systems
- Label and organize material documentation accurately
- Communicate shortages, damaged materials, and discrepancies to management
- Support shipping and receiving documentation processes
- Work closely with purchasing, quality, warehouse, and production teams
- Maintain organized records for customer and quality requirements
- Follow company procedures for inventory control and documentation accuracy
