Bilingual Medical Assistant | Ocoee, FL | $19-$21/hour | Temp-Perm
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Medical Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced clinical setting. This is a safety-sensitive role responsible for both administrative and clinical support, reporting directly to the Office Manager. The ideal candidate will be a team player who provides exceptional patient care and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for provider exams, collecting detailed history and vitals
- Document all information accurately in the EMR system
- Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Administer medications (oral and injectable) and assist with in-office procedures
- Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., EKG, pulse oximetry, peak flow, inhalation treatments)
- Draw blood and process lab specimens for in-office or send-out labs
- Maintain sterilization and cleanliness of instruments and exam rooms
- Handle front desk operations: answering phones, appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out
- Provide patient education as instructed by the provider
- Assist with medication management, referrals, and care coordination
- Monitor and order medical supplies, office medications, and inventory
- Support onboarding and training of new team members
- Participate in phone-based outreach (medication & appointment reminders, transitional care calls)
- Assist in maintaining patient medical records in compliance with policies and regulations
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (RMA or CMA preferred)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and medical coding
- Phlebotomy and IV start experience preferred
- Strong computer skills; experience with EMR systems
- Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
- Current CPR certification preferred

* Schedule appointments for patients.
* Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies or equipment.
* Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission.
* Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
* Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients.
* Keep financial records or perform other bookkeeping duties, such as handling credit or collections or mailing monthly statements to patients.
* Set up medical laboratory equipment.
* Operate x-ray, electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
* Change dressings on wounds.
