Data Technician-Scribe

SUMMARY

The Data Technician-Scribe will work with a combination of software applications, refinery drawings, and spreadsheets in order to prepare the process hazard analysis (PHA) database, scribe during the PHAs and perform basic clerical duties. Emphasis is placed on professionalism, quality of the work product and the efficiency of work execution. The Data Technician-Scribe will report to a Project Lead who will establish clear expectations in terms of work quality, efficiency, and technical development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Enter and verify engineering and process safety information into software applications and databases
• Review and work with engineering drawings including Piping and Instrument Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, and Piping Isometrics
• Maintain electronic and hard-copy project files and records
• Scan, organize, copy, and maintain project documentation
• Serve as scribe and document information during PHA meetings into various software applications
• Generate and format reports and project deliverables
• Perform quality checks on project databases and deliverables
• Schedule meetings and travel arrangements as requested
• Travel up to 75% of the domestic and international.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Have two or more years of experience in an office, administrative, technical support, or engineering environment
• Demonstrate strong typing and data-entry skills
• Have strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to drive to and possess a valid driver’s license
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines
• Other combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associate’s or Bachelors of science degree preferred, or equivalent related experience in field preferred.
• Two (2) to more years of experience in office, administrative, technical support, or engineering environment.
