Ophthalmology Technician/Scribe needed for busy Physician's Practice
Summary:
Whitsett Vision Group is a well-establish, well-respected provider of Ophthalmology services with multiple locations in the Houston area. We are known for our superior customer service and dedication to providing patients with the best experience and outcomes for their vision needs.
The Ophthalmology Technician/Scribe will be expected to provide the following core services and possess the appropriate skills to complete these services.
Selected Activities:
Obtain basic patient ocular and medical history
Complete patient workups which will include:
- Taking visual acuity and preliminary testing,
- Manual refractions, and
- Applanation Tonometry
- Use diagnostic equipment to image the eye:
- AR, Topographer, OCT, A-scan, I-trace, visual fields
- Assist Physicians during exams by recording details of encounter in patient electronic record
Other duties as needed to ensure the smooth functioning of the office and maintain patient care.
Qualifications/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Ophthalmic Technician in an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist office; certification a plus; scribe experience preferred
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus
- Advanced knowledge of Nextech EHR or similar database application, Microsoft office software, the Internet and other software products as needed; vision evaluation equipment
- Outstanding customer service skills
Other:
Local travel will be required. Will work some Saturday mornings.
