Job Title: Medical Scribe
Job Description
Join a dynamic team as a Medical Scribe where you will document physician visits in the EMR system, assist multiple physicians, handle some medical instruments upon request, perform work-ups post doctor visits with patients, and communicate with patients based on the documented plan provided by the doctor.
Responsibilities
- Document physician visits accurately in the EMR system.
- Provide scribing support for multiple physicians.
- Assist with medical instruments when requested by physicians.
- Conduct patient work-ups following doctor visits.
- Communicate effectively with patients based on the doctor's documented plan.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in medical assisting and terminology.
- Experience with EMR systems and medical documentation.
- Strong patient care skills.
- Typing and data entry expertise.
- Knowledge in ophthalmology and healthcare.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a life science is a plus.
- 1 years of on-site scribing or related medical experience is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of patient care.
- Driven and Type A personality.
Work Environment
The position operates Monday through Friday, typically between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM, depending on clinic needs. Initial training will occur at the admin building in the Galleria. You will work within a team of 8-24 individuals, with each physician supported by 8 clinic staff members Expect to manage a fast-paced environment seeing 80-100 patients a day. Dress code requires navy blue scrubs, with strict grooming standards for nails and hair.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.00/hr.
