Duties

• Perform comprehensive cleaning duties across various areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and sanitation tools.
• Handle janitorial tasks with precision, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized according to safety standards.
• Operate cleaning machinery safely and efficiently, including floor buffers and industrial cleaning equipment.
• Manage chemical agents responsibly by following chemical handling safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for all staff.
• Assist with general facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting (residential or commercial), and upkeep of building fixtures.
• Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while adhering to safe lifting practices to prevent injuries.
• Support porters or custodial teams by providing assistance with cleaning schedules, sanitation efforts, and maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the facility.
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning and maintenance activities to promote a secure workplace environment.
• Respond promptly to custodial requests or issues raised by staff or visitors to ensure high customer service standards are met.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in custodial work or janitorial services with familiarity in commercial or industrial cleaning environments.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and proper use of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and mops.
• Experience handling chemical agents safely in accordance with safety protocol procedures.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while following established safety practices.
• Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude towards assisting team members and visitors.
• Prior experience in facilities maintenance or Porter roles is preferred; residential painting or industrial cleaning experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
