Dietary Aide (PRN - As Needed) 6a-2:30p or 4p-8p Trinity Center

We have immediate openings for PRN Dietary Aides. These positions are being hired for the Trinity building but could float, on occasion, to work at The Gardens Assisted Living on our campus. The PRN positions have varied hours from either 6a-2:30p or 4p-8p.

Dietary Aides are responsible for preparing and serving meals and snacks throughout the facility; performing various duties in and around the kitchen including preparation of various portions for meals, presentation of food and delivery of food; responsible for the sanitary condition of tableware and working area and discarding broken and chipped tableware and responsible for delivering and collecting food in and around residents’ rooms.

JOB DUTIES (included but not limited to):

Complete simple food preparation tasks.

Assist in keeping the entire kitchen clean and in order at all times.

Pour beverages and serve neatly on trays at correct temperature and in amounts at the proper time.

Fill orders for between-meal nourishment.

Neatly prepare trays to serve deserts, salads, fruits, dry cereals and cold bread at proper time and correct temperature.

Prepare trays for meals with diet cards, napkins, flatware, condiments and straws.

Assist with tray service to residents in the dining area and pick up dirty trays after the meal has been completed.

Assist with dish washing, general cleaning and food preparation tasks as needed.

Maintain daily care of dishwasher and washing area, salad worktable, dish storage cabinet, food carts, lavatory and sink.

Assist with floor care in the kitchen by sweeping and/or mopping at a time when food is not being prepared or served.

Wrap flatware in napkins.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have a High school diploma or GED and be at least 16 years of age.

Must be able to fluently read, write and follow written and oral directions in English.

Dietary Aides must have an understanding of mechanical devices and basic sanitation procedures.

Previous food service experience desirable, but not necessary. Extensive on-the-job training will be provided.
