Job Description

This role requires hands-on expertise in manual testing, automation testing, API testing, ADA compliance validation, performance testing, and test planning within an Agile environment.

Core Responsibilities

· Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases across DEV, UAT, QAT, PRE-PROD environments.

· Analyze requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria (in Azure DevOps) to build effective, reusable test cases including positive, negative, regression, integration, boundary, data conversion, UAT, accessibility, and post-deployment validation tests.

· Develop detailed test plans, test strategies, test metrics, and test execution reports.

· Perform ADA accessibility testing using tools such as AccVerify, JAWS, etc.

· Conduct API testing using Postman, REST Client, or similar tools.

· Identify, document, and track defects using Azure DevOps, ensuring clear reproduction steps and documented impacts.

· Generate, transform, and manage test data for multiple testing phases.

· Develop automated scripts using Java, Gherkin, Step Definitions, and frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.

· Write and execute SQL / PL-SQL queries (SELECT, JOIN, etc.) for validation and test data setup using Oracle or SQL Server.

· Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum team, participating in ceremonies, sprint planning, and daily standups.

· Communicate test results, defects, and risks to project managers, developers, and business analysts.

· Perform performance and load testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.

· Work with Git for version control operations (merging, branching, pull requests).

· Follow Secure Application Development Lifecycle (SADLC) processes.

· Work onsite 2 days per week in downtown Lansing.

Required Technical Skills (5 Years Senior-Level Experience)

Testing & QA

· Manual Automated Test Case Design & Execution

· Functional, System Integration, Regression, UAT, Accessibility, Performance & Load Testing

· Test Planning, Test Strategies, Test Metrics, Test Reporting

· ADA / Accessibility Testing Tools (AccVerify, JAWS)

· API Testing (Postman, REST Client)

· Test Data Creation & Management

· Azure DevOps (user stories, test cases, bugs, dashboards)

Automation

· Java-based automation scripting

· Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent

· Gherkin syntax (Given/When/Then)

· Step Definition authoring in Java

· TestNG framework

· SQL, PL-SQL (Oracle/SQL Server)

· Git version control (merge, branches, PRs)

Agile / Collaboration

· Agile/Scrum testing experience

· Strong communication and documentation

· Cross-functional collaboration with Dev, BA, and PM teams

Security

· Understanding of Secure Application Development Lifecycle (SADLC)

Nice to Have

· Azure DevOps Test Plans Module

· Mobile App Testing (iOS/Android)

· Playwright for Java

· Eclipse IDE
