PAY RATE -$22/HR ON W2
Served as a Revenue Specialist responsible for administering tax compliance, collections, auditing, investigations, and taxpayer assistance functions. Conducted detailed research and analysis of taxpayer accounts, tax filings, payments, and financial records to ensure compliance with state and federal tax laws and regulations. Provided technical guidance to taxpayers, taxpayer representatives, internal departments, and external agencies regarding tax-related matters and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provided technical and procedural assistance to taxpayers, tax practitioners, state agencies, and internal stakeholders regarding tax laws, regulations, payments, returns, and compliance matters.
- Conducted extensive research and analysis of taxpayer accounts, financial records, tax returns, and payment histories using departmental software and database systems.
- Investigated complex tax issues involving unpaid liabilities, delinquent accounts, non-filers, underreported taxes, and disputed assessments.
- Created and maintained tax assessments, billings, liabilities, penalty abatements, and interest adjustments in accordance with court orders and departmental policies.
- Reviewed and processed confidential taxpayer information requests while ensuring compliance with privacy, confidentiality, and disclosure regulations.
- Performed audits and compliance reviews of financial statements, tax returns, accounting records, and supporting documentation to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Developed and managed audit and investigative cases to evaluate taxpayer compliance and determine the validity of financial information and tax filings.
