Senior Accountant – Lancaster Sauce Company (Trillium Foods) - Lancaster, PA
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to oversee all financial activities at our Lancaster, PA manufacturing facility. This role will serve as the onsite accounting lead and business partner to local operations, with ownership over plant financials, reporting, controls, and cost analysis. The Senior Accountant will be a critical part of the broader Trillium Foods finance team and work closely with the Director of Accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Manage all financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, month-end close processes, and balance sheet reconciliations for the Lancaster facility. Support centralized Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Treasury.
- Cost Accounting: Develop, maintain and analyze standard costs, inventory valuation, and production variances. Partner with plant leadership to monitor performance against plan.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead annual budget development and support regular forecasting processes specific to the plant’s operations.
- Capital Projects & Fixed Assets: Track capital spend, prepare project justifications, and manage fixed asset accounting.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure proper internal controls are in place and adhered to. Support internal and external audits as needed.
- Business Partnership: Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and plant management to provide financial insights that drive efficiency and performance.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations and increase financial transparency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
- 6 years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and inventory management.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, such as NetSuite, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Work Environment:
This position is based on site at the Lancaster Sauce Company plant, with a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday. The Senior Accountant will regularly interact with plant personnel and leadership teams and must be comfortable working in a dynamic production setting.
