About the Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This is a new position created as we are a growing business that requires more support in the accounting department. This position will be responsible for maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, accounts receivable, assisting in collections and various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles, excellent analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Job Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintains the financial books and records of the company
- Produces timely and accurate financial reports
- Prepares annual budget and maintains rolling 12-month forecast
- Manages job costing and issues job reports when complete
- Oversee accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely billing, collections and continuous improvement to cash collection cycle.
- Develop and implement collection strategies to reduce outstanding receivables.
- Receive, deposit and post all payments received timely and accurately.
- Works with the Accounting & HR Manager as second pair of eyes to review payroll prior to submission weekly.
Qualifications, Skills & Requirements
- Complete and pass pre-employment background check.
- Tech savvy – expert level with Excel and other Microsoft office products.
- Previous experience with the following programs a plus: QuickBooks Online
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Exemplary decision making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
