Position Summary
As a Network Cabling Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced technicians and project teams to assist with the installation, maintenance, testing, and organization of structured cabling systems and related infrastructure. Apprentices receive on-the-job training and mentorship while gaining real-world experience across a variety of commercial construction and technology environments.
This position offers a clear growth path into Network Cabling Technician roles as skills, certifications, and experience are developed.
Responsibilities
• Assist with installation of structured cabling systems including Cat6, fiber optic, and low voltage infrastructure
• Learn proper cable routing, termination, labeling, and cable management techniques
• Assist with installation of racks, pathways, supports, and related infrastructure
• Support testing and troubleshooting of network cabling systems
• Follow project specifications, safety standards, and company procedures
• Maintain organized job sites and tools
• Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and construction teams
• Travel to project sites as needed
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical skills
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to work in team environments
• Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, or in construction environments
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Prior construction, electrical, or low voltage experience is a plus but not required

Schedule
Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, though overtime, after-hours work, and occasional travel may be required depending on project demands.
