Role – Mechanical Assembler II

Location: Houston, TX

Contract w2

Rate: ~$21/hour (DOE)

Duration- 12 months

Interview: 1 round, in-person

Role Overview : The Mechanical Assembler II will work in a workshop environment assembling, disassembling, testing, troubleshooting, and inspecting aero/turbine mechanical equipment. The role supports repairs and modifications under tight deadlines while maintaining quality and HSE standards. Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and the ability to read complex engineering drawings are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble mechanical/aero or turbine equipment
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, and visual inspections
• Support repairs and equipment modifications
• Use pneumatic and hydraulic tools, including ID/OD micrometers, depth micrometers, and calipers
• Read and interpret detailed assembly and machining drawings
• Work collaboratively in a team of 6 to meet delivery timelines
• Adhere to quality, safety, and HSE procedures

Essential Requirements:

• Experience in turbines or mechanical-based roles
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Hands-on experience with hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic tooling
• Ability to read and understand complex technical drawings
• Comfortable working under tight deadlines in a workshop setting

Preferred / Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 10 years of relevant mechanical or turbine experience (flexible up to 15 years)
• Background from Baker Hughes competitors (e.g., Schlumberger, Halliburton) is a strong plus
• Job titles may include:
• Turbine Mechanic
• Mechanical Technician
• Gas Mechanic
• Turbine Engineer / Specialist
• Hard-working, detail-oriented, and team-focused
