Software Quality Assurance Consultant

Summary

Our client is seeking a software Quality Assurance Consultant to design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases for complex test scenarios. This role will ensure appropriate test coverage, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, and contribute to test automation initiatives as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases for complex scenarios, ensuring appropriate test coverage.
• Create, update, and manage test data for use across various stages of software testing.
• Improve, maintain, and adapt existing tests while creating new tests as the product evolves.
• Investigate and resolve issues using analytical thinking, creativity, and QA best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate findings and offer recommendations.
• Contribute to test automation initiatives and assist with automation tasks when requested.
  
  

Requirements

• Proficiency in analyzing documentation and conducting research to validate software requirements.
• Ability to apply standard quality assurance and business analysis methodologies.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate business processes into testable requirements.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in problem-solving ability using data analysis, research, and iterative testing.
• Capable of working independently or collaboratively in Agile and fast-paced environments.
  
  

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of related experience as an individual contributor.
• Proficiency with test management platforms (Jira, Zephyr).
• Experience with REST API testing tools (Postman) and working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with Test automation tools and frameworks (Java, TypeScript, Selenium, Playwright, BDD, Gherkin, Cucumber).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline integration (GitLab CI).
• Exposure to Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with LLMs and AI-powered tools (Claude code, Amazon Q, Copilot).
  
  

This is a 12-month Contract opportunity with our Kansas City, MO client.
