What You Will Do
This role is responsible for the day‑to‑day operation, reliability, and security of the organization’s enterprise networks and systems. The position provides hands‑on technical support to internal users, deploys and maintains network and system infrastructure, and ensures secure, resilient operations across headquarters, substations, and remote locations. In addition to core network and systems responsibilities, this role plays a key part in modernizing operations by leveraging automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and data‑driven tools to enhance system monitoring, strengthen cybersecurity, improve troubleshooting, and elevate service delivery. The ideal candidate is technically strong, adaptable, and forward‑thinking—someone who brings a continuous‑improvement mindset and an interest in applying emerging technologies to improve reliability, security, and operational efficiency across the organization.

In addition to core network and systems responsibilities, this role plays a key part in modernizing operations by leveraging automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and data‑driven tools to enhance system monitoring, strengthen cybersecurity, improve troubleshooting, and elevate service delivery. The ideal candidate is technically strong, adaptable, and forward‑thinking—someone who brings a continuous‑improvement mindset and an interest in applying emerging technologies to improve reliability, security, and operational efficiency across the organization.
Key duties and expectations include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Recommends, installs, configures, maintains/changes, and documents hardware and software associated with the company’s enterprise networks and data systems.
- Designs and deploys company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, switches, backup power supplies (UPS), and related equipment at Trico headquarters and remote locations.
- Reviews and monitors SIEM/logging and vulnerability management tools; prioritizes and remediates identified risks, and documents corrective actions and processes used.
- Maintains accurate network and security asset inventory and supporting documentation (e.g., devices, systems, network equipment, configurations), and supports change documentation to improve visibility, troubleshooting, and risk management.
- Implements, configures, and maintains network security controls including firewalls, secure remote access/VPN solutions, intrusion detection/prevention capabilities, and related security technologies to ensure maximum availability and protection.
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or applicable field or five years of comparable experience in lieu of education.
- Three years proven experience in LAN/WAN administration and maintenance; network planning, network security management, Internet/Intranet, TCP/IP and MS Windows, CISCO routers, fiber, SAN’s, VMware and Firewall technology.
- Three years experience installing, operating, or maintaining hardware and software.
- Competency in virtual computing environments.
- Proficiency with architecture and maintenance of complex enterprise networks.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
