All bargaining (Union) bids for this position must be submitted by October 17, 2025, for the provisions of article 21 in the collective bargaining agreement to apply. On completion of the ten-day Union bidding period, if no qualifying Union bids are submitted, this posting will stay up on Tri-State's internal job postings site for any interested non-bargaining employees to apply.

- Must successfully pass the following tests:
- Transmission Technical Apprentice Qualification Test with a 75% or better score.
- Transmission Substation Technician and Substation Apparatus Technician Practical (hands-on) Test with a 75% or better score
- 3. Must have and maintain, or be able to obtain within 6 months, a valid Colorado Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Tanker endorsement, and no Air Brake restrictions.
- Must have and maintain, or be able to obtain and maintain a First Aid and CPR Certification within 6 months of hire, and have the ability to perform First Aid and CPR.
- Must have a willingness to work in and around high voltages common to the electrical utility industry.
- Must be willing to accept overnight travel up to 75% of working time.
- Must reside within 60 minutes response time from your regular reporting location.
- Must be willing and able to work extra and irregular hours as the utility needs may require, and willing and able to work under unusual or special working conditions such as storms, extreme temperatures, winds, darkness, etc.
- Must have sufficient knowledge and skill in the safe use of basic hand tools, power tools, electrical and electronic tools, and electronic test equipment.
- Must be willing and able to climb steel structures and work at various heights.
- Must be able to work in confined areas.
