Role Description The Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in New Haven, CT, responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations for Tri-Lift, Inc. Day-to-day tasks include managing general ledger functions, preparing financial statements, monitoring cash flow, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Controller will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This role will supervise accounting staff, coordinate audits, support leadership with financial reporting and analysis, and collaborate with other departments to optimize financial performance and support strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting and finance skills, including general ledger management, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, along with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience establishing and monitoring internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising or mentoring accounting or finance team members.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work on-site in New Haven, CT, collaborate effectively across departments, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation, and prior experience as a Controller or senior accountant are preferred.
- Experience in distribution, equipment dealerships, or industrial services is beneficial.
