Our entry-level Structural Design Engineer position is designed with future P.E.'s in mind. Our focus is on providing you with practical on-the-job learning that will develop your technical problem-solving skills and foster your professional development.
Role Description
This role offers hands-on experience in how buildings come together - from early coordination through design - focused on precast structural systems. You’ll work alongside contractors, architects, and owners, gaining real-world exposure to project execution and problem-solving. Site and fabrication visits provide a clear understanding of how precast components are produced, assembled, and integrated into the overall structure.
You’ll support the engineering and drafting of wall panels, double tees, cladding systems, and lateral systems, building practical design and detailing skills. As part of your development, you’ll be supported in preparing for the Professional Engineer (PE) exam, with exam resources and fees covered.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil or Architectural Engineering, with Structural coursework, from an ABET-accredited university.
- GPA of 3.0 and above.
- Passed the FE exam. EIT certification is required upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Structural design of precast/prestressed concrete products and connections for large commercial buildings such as stadiums/arenas, parking garages, dormitories, apartments, etc.
- Performing basic calculations, learning codes and standards to complete assignments
- Checking of drawings, coordination with clients, architects, other engineers, and general contractors
- Working as part of a project team to provide high-quality and on-time deliverables.
- Maintaining internal team needs as well as external client relationships.
