Software Engineer

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Information Systems Engineer to support the design, implementation, and integration of manufacturing software platforms that connect production operations with enterprise systems. This role will help manufacturers improve operational visibility, process automation, and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement manufacturing information systems, SCADA platforms, and HMI applications.
• Develop software solutions that integrate PLC-based control systems with plant and enterprise applications.
• Configure manufacturing platforms including FactoryTalk, Ignition, Wonderware, Siemens, and similar technologies.
• Develop and support database-driven applications for production monitoring and reporting.
• Integrate manufacturing systems with MES, ERP, OEE, quality, and traceability solutions.
• Design and support industrial communication networks and system architectures.
• Develop applications using C#, .NET, SQL, and related technologies.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain manufacturing software applications.
• Collaborate with customers and project teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Create technical documentation, system designs, and implementation specifications.
• Support projects through design, development, commissioning, and startup.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 4 years of experience designing and implementing manufacturing information systems, SCADA solutions, or HMI applications.
• Experience with FactoryTalk, Ignition, Wonderware ArchestrA, Siemens, or similar industrial software platforms.
• Experience developing and configuring HMI applications.
• Strong understanding of MES, ERP, OEE, quality, process monitoring, and traceability systems.
• Proficiency with C#, .NET, SQL, and database-driven application development.
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or similar database technologies.
• Knowledge of Ethernet/IP and industrial communication networks.
• Understanding of PLC-based control systems and automation architectures.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and customer-facing communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within manufacturing, industrial automation, process control, or systems integration environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing software deployments.
• Interest in growing into a technical leadership or subject matter expert role.
