Senior System Engineer

TRC Talent Solutions is partnering with an organization supporting large-scale, mission-critical utility operations to hire a Senior Systems Engineer in the Tucker, GA area. This team supports highly available operational technology environments where infrastructure reliability, cybersecurity, and operational continuity are essential.

Summary

This is a senior-level, hands-on infrastructure engineering role within a Systems & Infrastructure team supporting real-time operational systems. The position focuses on maintaining secure, highly available server and virtualization environments while contributing technical leadership across operational and infrastructure initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support both Windows and Linux server environments
• Maintain VMware or Nutanix virtualization infrastructure
• Support physical and virtual server environments across operational systems
• Manage storage, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery processes
• Perform patch management and cybersecurity hardening activities
• Monitor system performance, operational reliability, and infrastructure health
• Support compliance initiatives related to security controls and infrastructure standards
• Support OT/SCADA-related infrastructure and operational systems
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute technical leadership across projects and initiatives
• Participate in troubleshooting, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvement efforts

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience administering both Windows and Linux server environments
• Experience supporting VMware or Nutanix virtualization platforms
• Experience working within regulated or high-availability operational environments
• Knowledge of security controls and compliance frameworks such as NERC CIP, NIST, PCI, SOX, or HIPAA
• Strong troubleshooting and infrastructure support capabilities
• Ability to work within mission-critical operational environments where uptime and reliability are essential
