What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Facilities Technician II *Temporary* - ATSS position at TRAX International?
*This is a temporary position until December 31, 2026*
Serves as multi-skilled technician performing a variety of construction and retrofitting tasks involving the inspection and retrofit of various types of test facilities and infrastructure to include interior, exterior, fixtures, and utilities. Requires a working knowledge of a variety of trade practices. Assignments include visual checks and operational tests to determine the nature and extent of retrofitting required to accommodate testing.
Duties and Responsibilities
Carpentry/Masonry/Roofing/Blueprints
* Repairs, replaces and or retrofits test facility components in order to accommodate test mission.
* Interior work includes, but is not limited to, floors, ceilings, walls, windows, doors, porches, interior equipment, ladders, fixtures, etc.
* Exterior includes, but is not limited to, concrete, brick, metal ductwork, flashing, gutters, downspouts, ridge rolls, target pads, etc.
* Required to read blueprints to locate utility closets, determine square footage, etc.
HVAC/Electrical/Electronic/ Plumbing
* Installs and repairs equipment for construction projects and systems in support of various test missions.
* Inspects test facility equipment such as HVAC and electrical systems for defects and corrects as necessary.
* Required to read blueprints to locate utilities, determine square footage, etc.
Installation and Repair of Range Roads/Landscaping
* Installs and repairs range roads/test pads, grading, landscaping duties, digging utility trenches, and finish site stabilization (seeding/covering), etc.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* 3 years applicable experience; or at least 60 credit hours or an associate’s degree and 1-year applicable experience; or 30 credit hours and 2 years applicable experience; or completion of a formal training program and 1-year applicable experience
* Approximately 50% of all levels combined shall be respiratory protection qualified, to include medical screening, fit checks, and respiratory protection training, as dictated by mission requirements
Physical Qualifications
* The work of this position is performed in the field where you are subject to the environment and sometimes in an environmentally controlled office environment
* Must be capable of squatting, crouching, standing, climbing, stooping, and sitting, sometimes for extended periods while performing duties
* Must be able to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
* Must be able to work in confined spaces and crawl into tight areas
* Must be able to ascend and descend equipment
* Must be able to visually distinguish colors
* Must be capable of lifting 85 pounds unassisted
* Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements
* Must be a U.S. Citizen
* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions
* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening periodic retest
* Must be able to successfully complete a background screening
* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment
