Transport Refrigeration, Inc. (TRI) is hiring Diesel Technicians, Diesel Mechanics, HVAC Technicians, Automotive Technicians, and Transport Refrigeration (Reefer) Technicians who are looking for more than just a job to join our Madison, WI team.

Whether you’re experienced or newer to the trade, TRI provides paid on-the-job training and Thermo King factory certification training to help you build a long-term career in the transport refrigeration industry.

In this role, you’ll diagnose and repair transport refrigeration units, APUs, diesel heaters, and truck cab A/C systems that keep refrigerated fleets running across the country.

🔧 Technician Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain transport refrigeration units, APUs, diesel heaters, and cab A/C systems

• Perform preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs

• Complete road service calls and participate in on-call rotation (after training)

• Meet standard repair times while maintaining quality work

• Safely operate shop tools, diagnostic equipment, and hoists

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop environment

✅ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (technical school preferred)

• Valid driver’s license

• Basic diesel, automotive, or HVAC mechanical experience

• Obtain toolbox and the required tools

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work overtime when needed

• Ability to obtain within 1 year:

  • Thermo King Certi-Tech Certification

  • EPA 608 & 609 Certifications
