Pay: $16.50/hour (Starting)
Shifts Available:
- Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Weekend shift: 6:00 AM- 6:30 PM; 6:00 PM-6:30 AM

Position Summary
Direct Caregivers provide daily assistance, supervision, and emotional support to residents in accordance with each person's Individual Plan of Service (IPOS) and state regulations. You will help residents live meaningful, independent lives by supporting them with personal care, health management, and community involvement — while maintaining professional boundaries and a calm, emotionally intelligent approach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, and hygiene per care plan.
- Administer and document medications accurately per CMH and LARA guidelines.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals following prescribed diets.
- Support residents with daily living activities, recreation, and community integration.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized home environments.
- Observe and report changes in physical, emotional, or behavioral condition immediately to the Home Manager or Licensee Designee.
- Complete required documentation each shift (progress notes, medication logs, behavior reports, etc.).
- Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision to ensure ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence—responding calmly, communicating respectfully, and fostering trust in all interactions.
Minimum Qualifications (Per LARA & CMH Standards)
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be physically able to lift, transfer, and assist residents safely.
- Must successfully pass:
- Criminal background check (ICHAT & fingerprint)
- Comprehensive physical exam & TB test
- Reference and employment verification
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
- Medication Administration Training (completed prior to administering meds).
- Recipient Rights, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Person-Centered Planning Training required within 30 days of hire.
- Completion of Direct Care Worker Core Curriculum & CMH Orientation within 90 days of hire.
