Responsibilities

• Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
• Monitor patients' health status by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; report any changes to healthcare professionals
• Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring hygiene standards are met
• Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
• Follow individualized care plans designed by healthcare teams to meet each resident's unique needs
• Provide companionship and emotional support to foster a caring environment that promotes mental health and social engagement
• Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies
• Assist with hospice or memory care needs, including dementia or Alzheimer's care, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times
• Support residents during emergencies by executing first aid procedures or coordinating with emergency responders when necessary
• Engage in ongoing training related to patient observation, group home protocols, assisted living standards, and other relevant caregiving skills

Requirements

• Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
• Wound vac experience
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance or hospice care are advantageous
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or memory care needs is desirable
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina for long shifts involving standing and walking is essential
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams
• Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve clients' quality of life
• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
