Job Summary:
Support the manufacturing process by assembling semi-complex components into finished goods in a repetitive manner at the Vidalia, GA location.
Responsibilities:
- Works safely in accordance with the Safety Policies
- Work multiple jobs both within and outside of assigned work area.
- Operate machinery, presses and tools used in the production process
- Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using lifts
- Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and carts
- Hang and unhang parts from machines, conveyors, and carts
- Braze as detailed on method sheets and assembly diagrams
- Build components used in the production process
- Observe equipment operation in order to detect malfunctions
- Ensure customer and quality system compliance in areas of responsibility by conducting quality checks/tests and examining products
- Participate in lean manufacturing as well as plant initiatives as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Ability to speak, read and write English, understand simple written or oral instructions
- Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience
- Ability to train others
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Work any shift and work overtime as necessary to ensure production demands are realized
- Use all required safety gear and equipment
- Comply with all established Plant rules and policies
- Maintain an acceptable attendance record. Refer to Attendance & Punctuality Policy for complete guidelines
- Must follow dress code at all times
- Able to use power, pneumatic, and hand tools
- Able to work on various machines and presses
- Ability to train others
Physical Requirements:
- Perform tasks requiring hand and eye coordination, with good hand dexterity (gripping and pinching repetitively) for more than 2/3’s of work shift
- Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 10 pounds continuously, 25 pounds repetitively and 50 pounds occasionally. Lifting or carrying objects over 50 pounds requires a two person lift, or a lift assist
- Bend, twist, squat, kneel, and/or stoop repetitively 6 to 8 hours per day
- Reach overhead repetitively for more than 2/3’s of work shift
- Stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours per day
- Climb up and down stairs up to 3 hours per day
- Use of senses to detect quality defects and unsafe conditions
- Basic visual requirements for precision work
- Moderate physical exertion
