Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed physical examinations and patient assessments to establish accurate diagnoses and treatment strategies.
- Manage a wide range of medical conditions, including acute pain management, infectious diseases, geriatrics, behavioral health, and chronic illnesses.
- Administer medications and injections, including IV infusions, botulinum toxin treatments, dermal fillers, and other esthetic laser procedures.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations such as sonography, spinal taps, catheterizations, and laboratory specimen collection/processing.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists in hospital medicine, critical care units (ICU/PICU), emergency rooms, and outpatient clinics to coordinate patient care plans.
- Provide telehealth consultations to extend access to care for remote or underserved populations.
- Engage in case management activities including discharge planning, utilization review, and working within Workers' Compensation law frameworks.
- Support patients through education on health coaching topics such as nutrition, medication adherence, and chronic disease management.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols while delivering safe and effective care.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in your practicing state or region.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical settings such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU/PICU care, or outpatient clinics.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 coding systems for documentation purposes.
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; familiarity with Athenahealth is a plus.
- Competency in performing procedures such as suturing, venipuncture (phlebotomy), catheterization (urinary/vascular), sterile processing techniques, and basic life support (BLS).
- Experience working with special populations including pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), geriatrics (memory/dementia care), hospice & palliative medicine or assisted living environments preferred.
- Critical care experience in hospital or Level I/II trauma center settings highly desirable; ICU experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of infectious disease care protocols and infection control practices essential for patient safety.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or emergency rooms; triage skills are advantageous.
