About the Opportunity:
trak group is partnering with a Cincinnati-based organization to hire a Director of SEO to lead enterprise-wide search strategy. This role will shape how millions of consumers discover the brand across multiple markets. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, a strong strategic mindset, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and own a long-term SEO roadmap focused on organic acquisition, local visibility, and scalable performance
- Evaluate site architecture, technical health, structured data, crawlability, and Core Web Vitals; partner with engineering to implement solutions
- Build scalable on-page optimization frameworks to support content teams across diverse service areas
- Lead local SEO strategy for hundreds of location-based pages and Google Business Profiles
- Monitor rankings, traffic, engagement, and competitor performance; translate insights into actionable strategies
- Partner with marketing, UX, engineering, analytics, and operations to align SEO priorities with business objectives
- Manage internal SEO talent and external vendors; establish KPIs and accountability
- Stay ahead of algorithm changes and industry trends to maintain competitive advantage
Qualifications:
- 5 years of hands-on SEO experience, including team leadership or oversight
- Proven success driving growth for large, multi-location or service-based websites
- Strong command of local SEO and optimization of Google Business Profiles at scale
- Deep knowledge of technical SEO, schema, mobile-first design, and site performance metrics
- High proficiency with SEO platforms and tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, etc.)
- Experience managing agencies or external partners
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
- Experience in locally driven industries (home services, retail, multi-site) strongly preferred
- Strong project management skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
