Position Summary
The Hotel Laundry Attendant is responsible for the efficient operation of the laundry department, including washing, drying, folding, sorting, and distributing linens, towels, uniforms, and other hotel textiles. This role ensures that all linen is cleaned to hotel standards and delivered on time to support smooth hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Laundry Operations
Wash, dry, and fold linens, towels, guest laundry, staff uniforms, and other hotel items.
Operate and monitor laundry equipment, ensuring proper settings and chemical use.
Sort soiled linens by fabric type, color, and level of soil.
Inspect all textiles for stains, tears, or damage; apply stain-removal techniques as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room and equipment.
2. Quality Control
Ensure all linen meets hotel cleanliness and quality standards before distribution.
Report damaged or unusable items to the supervisor.
Follow established procedures for handling special fabrics and delicate items.
3. Inventory & Distribution
Count, stock, and distribute clean linens to housekeeping closets and assigned areas.
Maintain inventory records of linens, chemicals, and laundry supplies.
Inform the supervisor when supplies need replenishment.
4. Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines for chemical handling and laundry operations.
Operate machines safely and report any malfunction or repair needs promptly.
Adhere to hotel policies, uniform standards, and key-control procedures.
5. Teamwork & Communication
Coordinate with housekeeping, front office, and other departments for timely linen delivery.
Assist teammates during peak periods.
Attend briefings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications
Previous experience in laundry operations preferred but not required.
Ability to operate or learn to operate commercial laundry equipment.
Good physical stamina; able to lift, push, and pull moderate-to-heavy loads.
Ability to stand and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
